This book lists each region breaking each down by town, it is in English and has over 1600 sites to choose from, so you are never more than 30 minutes drive from the next Aire.

Camping in France is so relaxing and can be done very cheaply.

Another useful site is www.airecampingcar.com this site again has a map showing the locations of hundreds of French Aires. Whether you are wild camping in the mountains, wine region, near major cities or on the coast you will find an Aire that you will be able to stay for free or for a minimal charge. Many full timers use the Aires and it is an excellent way to meet people and exchange travel tips.
